Crochet a Granny Square Pincushion

This course will teach you to make a very useful pincushion using granny squares. We will be making a little stuffed pouch to go inside.

Cost: £30 including tea and coffee

This project is suitable for anyone who knows the basics of crochet, we will be using dc and tr stitches.

You will need to bring a 3mm crochet hook, yarn needle and cotton yarn (4ply or dk weight) but don’t worry if you don’t have any yarn, I will have mercerised cotton yarn available to buy in the workshop (Scheepjes Catona £1.80 for a 50g ball or Sirdar Cotton dk £4.70 for a 100g ball).

I will provide the stuffing, cardboard, fabric and thread to make the inserts with.

How much yarn will you need? You won’t use a whole 50g ball, you can make it all in one colour or two.

• How to make the insert of the pincushion

• How to make a matching sewing thread holder

We will break for ½ hour at 1pm for lunch, you are welcome to bring a packed lunch or there are some lovely nearby cafes you could have lunch at (we’re looking into pre-booking arrangements)
